Heart-breaking, isn't it? I know my own heart did break into a thousand little pieces while reading this. And yes, this letter was addressed to yours truly from way back...
One of my favorite Adele songs is Someone Like You. It's just so beautiful and tragic and at the same time really brave. At the height of its popularity, I once jokingly (or not) told a friend that that's what I want my ex/es to dedicate to me. And then a few weeks back, I came across this while reading my old emails. I actually didn't make the connection then, just today while contemplating whether to put this up on my blog or not, but reading this again, it was like the dots just connected (like what Steve Jobs said in his famous Stanford commencement address). This is a guy singing that song to me in a different form of prose. And yes, he was my ex at the time he wrote this. Like, whoa. Gave me goosebumps just thinking about it.
Just goes to show, sometimes what you wish for do come true. Not necessarily in your expected time. It could be sooner, it could be much later. Or in my case, it even happened before I wished for it, before I even knew I wanted it. Kinda creepy when I think about it, to be honest. But that's just me. I'll leave you to your own conclusions.

DeleteBut yes, he does know how to write (ng bonggang-bongga, take note!) when he feels like it. Such a shame he won't do it often enough.
