Recipe: Buttered Shrimp

This is actually a very easy recipe, and there are probably hundreds of variations scattered all throughout the blogosphere. But this is my version which I did last night. And it tasted pretty good, if I do say so myself. So without further ado:

Buttered Shrimp

What I used:

  • 6 large shrimps
  • 3 tablespoons Magnolia unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons grated cheddar cheese
  • 3 cloves of garlic, crushed and peeled
  • pinch of salt

What I did:

  1. Melt the butter in a small frying pan over low heat.
  2. Once enough butter has melted to coat the bottom of the pan, add the cheese. Spread the cheese all across the pan to melt them faster.
  3. Add the garlic.
  4. Stir until all the cheese have melted.
  5. Add the shrimps and stir to coat them with the butter mixture.
  6. Cook until all parts become completely bright orange.
  7. Serve and enjoy.

Some notes:

  • You can use the excess sauce as a dip.
  • Cooking time varies depending on the size of the shrimp. The bigger the shrimp, the longer it takes to cook.

    1. A friend said he doesn't use cheese because it sticks and makes a mess, but really it's not THAT sticky as long as you have more butter than cheese. He obviously doesn't know what he's missing. ;)

  2. Wow sis you are into recipes pala. We are actually doing that at home kasi my niece likes Shrimps as well just like me I like shrimps a lot especially when it is being cooked in garlic and butter. Unfortunately my boyfriend can't eat that because he is allergic to it.
