| Tuna Spaghetti |
What I used:
- 1 175g Del Monte Spaghetti Merienda Pack
- 1 250g pouch Del Monte Sweet Style Spaghetti Sauce
- 3 cloves of garlic, peeled and sliced
- 1 small onion, peeled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 1 180g can Century Tuna flakes in oil
- 1/3 cup grated cheese or cheese spread
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- pinch of salt
- dash of vetsin
- 3-5 drops of hot sauce (optional)
What I did:
- Cook the pasta according to package directions.
- Heat the cooking oil together with the oil from the tuna.
- Saute the onion, garlic and tuna flakes.
- Add the spaghetti sauce, cheese, soy sauce and sugar. Season with salt and vetsin according to your taste. Add hot sauce if desired.
- Stir until the the cheese has melted and everything is evenly mixed. Let it simmer in low to medium heat until it boils.
- Add the cooked pasta and stir until every strand is covered in sauce.
- Top with more grated cheese if desired. Serve and enjoy.
Some notes:
- Yields 3-4 servings.
- You can substitute tuna chunks, solid tuna or corned tuna for the flakes in oil.
- I often add sliced sausages for variety.
- You may opt to increase the amount of cheese in the sauce or add cream to make the sauce creamier.

looks yummy! never tried tuna on spaghetti, this sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteThanks Claire! I, on the other hand, have never cooked meat on spaghetti. It's always been tuna for me. ;)
DeleteHello sis! The recipe looks yummy. I will definitely try this recipe soon! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks sis, hope you like the outcome! ;)
DeleteSame here sis! Usually prepare this for outings! See mine here, but mine seems like no-presentable photo than yours. -_-
ReplyDeletefrom Myxilog with love <3
Uhm, try macro focusing next time maybe? ;) But I'm sure your tuna spag tasted good despite the not-so-stellar shot. FYI, the photo above was just taken with my smartphone and edited to within an inch of its life in Photoshop to make it look even post-able. :P
DeleteI used my classmate's cam and I don't know how to operate it, too bad to hold a cam by a noob like me -_-
DeleteNah, that's okay. Nakaka-mangyan nga minsan gumamit ng gadget ng iba, lalo kung first time at di mo kabisado ang controls. Happens to me too. ;)
Deletehaha. atleast I know hindi ako nag-iisa :P well, looking forward to more of your recipes :)

ReplyDeleteThis looks delish! I like cooking pasta too, although I usually use Italian-style sauce or crushed tomatoes for my tomato-based pasta dishes :) Btw, I didn't know soy sauce can actually be added to spaghetti. Matry nga! Thanks for sharing this sis :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sumi! I have tried using canned tomatoes to make the sauce just once. And ended up adding, like, a ton of sugar to get rid of the sour taste. Lol.
DeleteLooks easy to prepare. I usually do mine without the tomato sauce and vetsin. I will try this next time.
ReplyDeleteI have tried not using vetsin, but it just doesn't taste the same. Or maybe that's just me. :P
DeleteThis looks yummy. I just remembered I haven't eaten anything yet. LOL.
ReplyDeleteAnd this constantly reminds me that Mama conveniently forgot my container of last night's tuna spag which I was planning to eat here in the office earlier. Geez. -_-;
DeleteI haven't tried preparing any pasta dish. I'll try this when I'm in the mood to cook my own food again hehe. thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteNo prob, hope you enjoy it! :)
